If you listened to this and didn’t know who it was Lemon D might not spring straight to mind but Kevin King it was. Annoyingly printed on a picture disc (I like to see when the darker quiet areas are going to hit) it is nevertheless a stonking piece of techstep, there’s not much that sounds quite like it. Squelchy, lovely and dark.
I’m fairly sure I could write a blog with daily posts for about a decade that solely dealt with drum and bass tunes that sample Blade Runner. It would be a good read though and quite Dillinja heavy. Here’s a doozy from Ed Rush & Nico, this would be on repeat if I was thinking about writing sci-fi based in some dystopian future. Oh, a bit like Blade Runner then.
Blade Runner samplin’ hardcore stabbin’ tech steppin’ brilliance from Ed Rush and No U-Turn head honcho Nico. Make sure you wait ‘til 3:25 for the nastiness. Strangely enough has a occasional noise in the background that sounds a bit like the Outlook email noise. Caught me out a few times.
Heavy Metal drum and bass? The build up in this tune to the mosh pit at 3.24 is utterly sublime.
4:08. That is all.
Grooverider got all the best tunes for Prototype. Just to prove the point of yesterday’s post about Trace’s versatility here’s the sickest techstep tune of all time. So good. You can feel Dom & Roland’s involvement on the buttons.
